The vacuum or reduced-pressure distillation apparatus is used to distil liquids with few impurities or to fractionate the components of liquid mixtures with high boiling points, which would decompose if distilled at atmospheric pressure.

This distillation can be used for separating and purifying liquids using distillation techniques. The three-neck round bottom boiling flask with 24/40 joints serves as the main component for heating the liquid, while the thermometer adapter with 24/40 inner joint is used for monitoring the temperature. The bleeding tube and inlet adapter are also used to control the pressure and flow of the liquid during the distillation process. The 500ml pressure equalizing funnel with 4mm PTFE stopcock is likely used for adding or transferring liquids into the boiling flask.
